Menorca retains a series of gastronomic traditions that are firmly established. One of them is eating coca bamba with chocolate during the patron saint festivities. A good pot of hot chocolate is made and the coca bamba is bought or baked to be enjoyed with family and friends for breakfast or a snack. Coca bamba, unlike ensaimada, is characterised by its compact, curled dough and the fact that it has no filling.
